MacBook Air 2011 Battery Life Test

I purchased my first MacBook Air in January, 2012.  I chose the 11.6 inch model with 4 GB RAM.  My computer has Mountain Lion, a backlit keyboard, and two USB 2.0 ports.  There is an Intel i5 dual-core 1.6 GHz processor.  I kept the original box.

I used the computer to work from home and had no issues.  I always used the computer plugged into the mains.  Today, I tested the battery life. Will continue to post the test findings.

MacBook Air 11.6 inch

I originally used Energy Saver settings to put the computer to sleep before 15 minutes.  I selected the setting to put the display to sleep after 2 minutes.  I also slightly dimmed the display on battery power.  Interestingly, this screen estimated 4 Hours 54 Minutes at 96%.  The Menu Bar Battery Indicator was estimating slightly more time remaining.

Energy Saver  Settings

I started at 10:30 am.

Getting Started
Five hours and ten minutes remain at 10:43 am.

5 Hrs 10 Mins at 10:43 am
I changed the settings to never sleep.  I am leaving the computer alone to drain on the side table while I work on my new computer at my desk.  Now, this screen estimated 4 Hours and 40 Minutes remaining at 89%.

Never sleep
Four hours and forty minutes remain on the Menu Bar Battery Indicator.

4 Hrs 40 Mins at 11:49 am

Three hours and seventeen minutes remain on the Menu Bar Battery Indicator.  55% battery life remaining.

3 Hrs 18 Mins at 1:23 pm

One hour and twelve minutes (28%) remain on the Menu Bar Battery Indicator.

1 Hr 12 Mins at 2:48 pm
Fifty-two minutes remain. 16% Remaining.

52 Mins at 3:29 pm
Summary: From 10:30 am to 3:29 pm, I tested the battery and still had 52 minutes left.  Battery should last at least six hours, depending on activity.  MacBook Air 2011 with 11.6 inch screen battery testing complete.
